The Club structures around a non compulsory Nationally recognised grading syllabus.
The instructors who teach, range from 6th Dan to 1st Dan Black Belts, with many years experience and Nationally recognised coaching certificates.
The Club has a Bronze CLUBMARK Award and all Instructors are fully CRB checked and insured.
The Budo Club is a registered Charity founded in 1957 to promote the values of respect, discipline, friendship and achievement as found in the Martial Arts. Although the Club is one of the oldest in the Country it is as new, vibrant and award winning today as it has ever been.
Judo as a major component of the Club has, over the years produced 15 National Champions, 4 European Championships Medallists and 4 World Championships competitors along with an Olympian, Julian Davies and 2014 Common Wealth Games Silver Medallist, Tom Reed.
Budo is a generic term used to encapsulate all the Martial arts regardless of type. The underlying principles of all martial systems including Judo, Aikido, Karate or Jujitsu are Budo principles.
